is it true that its possible to do 1 electric blue dempsey in a 40 breeder everywhere i read it tells me different...... i kno the bigger the tank is always better and i have great filtration and all so whats the verdict

you can do that intill he get 5" then he needs a 55gal... thats what my 6" one is in... :D

EBJD or regaller jd dont matter, males need a 75 gallon females can fit in a 55 ( but should be in a 75 ) and female EBJD are harder to come by so its mostly males you get, so i would assume a 75 min for one.

where in the world did you hear about a 75 gallon?:screwy: they rarely get larger than 10 inches, and ebjd are rare to see over 8 inches, why would a fish that size need and 18 inch wide tank?

...anyway, a 40 breeder would be excellent for an ebjd:)

Wrong, A 40B is fine for a JD, it is 36 x 18 x 17.

55g is also more than enough room.
