i need help, quick! my baby snapping turtle got a tiny nip on his tail one day, so i put some reptile- wound heling stuff on it.... but it didnt help!:( now most of his ail loks dead, but the ounds are getting extremely close to the cloaca! please help in any way possible....
 
Sorry I can't offer any advice, I hope he gets better soon.

no idea, but that looks terrible, poor fella.

id say the turtle needs taken to a herp vet to be checked out and get some antibiotics subscribed. if you arent alredy he should be separated from the others cause they will not let up on him and it could end up fatal

does anybody know where i can get them!!!!??? i looked online, no herp vets are near here that are open tommorow, so im basically screwed.i cant have this turtle die! i havent had a turtle die in over a year and a half! i love the little guy...:( plus im assuming tht itll cost like 100$ to get him the anitbiotics and have the vet even look at him....money i dont have :wall:
 
Your going to do this: your going to put your turtle out of the water but on a moist envioroment with paper towels and next your going to put allot of a fatty antibiotic ointemment (for people like B-panthene plus) on your turtle´s tail. I can see by the pics that your turtle´s body wants to regect the dying tissue, it just needs some help doing so. Your turtle HAS salvation. Dont try to desinfect with any agressive stuff like alcool or betadine, and keep your turtle clean. He needs to be out of the water for like 2 days, then put in water to drink and stuff for 1 hour then take him back again for another day. If it goes well your turt should regect that part of the tail in less then one week. Dont try to pull it or anything, its a natural process.
