Please estimate costs for pool filter sand

i did 2x 125's and a 75 gallon with 4 bags and it cost me 26.50 with tax's(new jersey tax's)
 
Paid 10 for my 50lb. Bag and it was plenty for my 75gal

I did two bags in my 180 and it was too much... I've pulled about half of it out already so I would say 2 bags would work for those two tanks, think I paid $14 for both down south
 
You guys use way too much sand. I used 1 bag for a 100, 75, 55, and 30, and it was PLENTY.

You don't want your sand too deep for a fish only setup if it's not a saltwater live sand bed or a planted tank. And you want to stir it up so you don't get anything building up in the sand. Deep sand traps things, and bad stuff can happen.
 
Wow! You guys paid $10 per bag! The bags at my local pool store are only $3! You should in a 55 and 125 use about 200 pounds. I would get 10 bags lol. Just to be sure you have extra sand in the future I would get extra sand. Also if anything goes wrong you can have "backup" sand. Good luck! I currently have 200 pounds of play/pool filter sand sitting in my basement. I get extra every time so that I can have backup and replacement sand. I would for you get like 6 bags. You should be fine with that.
