Please help ASAP Bonsai Flowerhorn upside down but only sometimes...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I dont have a hospital tank setup right now... I fasted the tank for 3 days and then tonight I just fed flakes (Cobalt Discus Hans). He swims around eating, chasing the other fish, etc. Then when he's done or gets bored or whatever he will find a spot on the bottom and go lay on his head. At this point I'm really wondering how concerned I should be, considering he has absolutely zero problems swimming upright when he wants to...

My short body did the same thing and I thought the same thing. I would use the Epsom salt soaked pellets for 5 days.

Seems like a buoyancy issue. What's his diet like. Issues are more frequent in short body variety.
What could cause it he wasn’t doing it a few days ago, like he would do regular flips when eating or excited but never stay upside down, until I took the divider away and the next morning he was like that right next to her. out do you think it could be stress related

He doesn't seem to be in stress. May be try medicated pellets like NLS hexshield for few days.
