Help! Okay this is my first time posting pics so I hope it worked. This is my little firemouth, in a tank w/ two GTs and a BA about the same size (all about 3 inches). The tank is planted w/ live plants. Water params are good (ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 20, not the best), temp 80....nothing new has happened, I've had him for maybe about a month, all my other fish are fine, don't know what else to tell you except please help! Not eating, stringy whitish poo, anus looks swollen, white fuzzy patches( but doesn't appear to be ich) listless, hanging out near top (moved when I took photos) usually he is the tough guy of the tank! yesterday he had slight symptoms but today he has progressed rapidly downhill! Also, for whatever treatment you recommend, can I treat the whole tank and can I treat w/ plants? I'm in a dorm and don't have a car so my friends takin me to a local fish store and a petsmart here soon so if you could reply quickly so I know what to grab, that'd be great thanks!

Sorry if this is jumbled and confusing im slightly frantic. I don't want to lose this little guy but I also don't want him to infect the rest of my tank I love my little GT!

also his bottom lip is swollen and reddish, kind of like an open wound? He's got several white patches that are real fuzzy like the one above his left eye and in front of his left gill.

isolate that fish in a 10gal, if you got one, bump the temp to 85 dagrees add a air stone and add pimafix.

all I've got is an eclipse 3 gal :( none of my other fish are showing symptoms but my smaller GT has a tiny white dot on one of his fins, doesn't appear to be a big deal. Can pimafix be used w/ plants? would it hurt to treat the whole tank?

What kind of water are you using? Is it straight tap water and not RO or water softener water? Straight tap is the best, the others aren't recommended at all.

like he said, use a hospital tank, if you can spare the money go get a 10gal and treat him in there. it will be worth the money because you can always use a small tank.

i've got some at home but I'm in a dorm and I don't have room, plus it is illegal to have more than 20 gals (and I'm already at 25). I've noticed a tiny white dot kind of here or there, like one each, on my three other fish, but it's kind of something that you see randomly, then its gone, then maybe back later, so I'm not sure that it ndicates anything. Like I asked, could I treat the whole tank? Or could I treat him in at 3 gal? I've got a betta in it now, but I could move the betta to a little betta jar until treatment is complete. would that work? Can I treat the whole tank, I'm worried about my three other guys?

Get a 10G from Wal-mart for like $11, isolate the fish and keep constant water changes. Take out carbon from filter and apply parasite treatment. Get a good quality flake diet for it. Just keep up water changes.

I think that is what I'm going to try to do. What I really need to know is if my other fish have this can I treat the whole tank? Plants included? Someone please tell me?
