I think that is what I'm going to try to do. What I really need to know is if my other fish have this can I treat the whole tank? Plants included? Someone please tell me?

You can treat the entire tank, but that means you have to do a large water changes weekly or small ones just more frequently. I would take out the plants and treat them seperately in something else. For diet I suggest maybe Omega One or Hikari, something that sinks to the bottom because if your fish is sick it might not want to or have the energy to swim up for food.

I once had something similar wipe out 7 Firemouths, it would start as white fuzzy spots, by day 2-3 the would turn into all out red ulcers, fins would start rotting and they'd be dead by day 5 at the longest. Never did find out what it was, treated it with something (can't remember what) But it didn't affect my JD, Texas or GT (They were all in the same tank)
