the fuzzyness is gone but now this is there it is larger and uglier than before i am using copper-safe and aquarium salt. i dont know what it is i think its a bacterial infection please help me identify it and save our families fish

Have you tried melafix(hope that's the right one!)?

You're using the wrong treatments, Sun. That fish needs more than copper-based treatments. Get betadine and douse the wound carefully with it. Get a hospital tank and isolate the fish there. It needs clean water to allow the wounds to heal. Store some Maracyn and Maracyn 2 just in case. It would not hurt if you mix kanaplex or maracyn and maracyn 2 on its food to allow it to ingest the antibiotics.
