PLEASE HELP! fish dying

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no problem

I'm here to help =)

When you get the stuff ad a little more then the amount specified if it says add 25-30ml for your tank add 40-45ml it might speed up the nitrite detoxification process but it definately wont harm your fish. I'll be on for probably another 2 hours so clue me in on whats happening.

hi, to start off sorry for your lost, but i think u may have changed to much of the water in your tank + a new filtration system so u really lower your good bacteria counts. Yea like the postes before me stated u pretty much restarted your tank. But for me as a rule of thumb i try to never change more than 25% of the water in my tank, i don't know about everyone else but that seem to work for me since day one. gl man wish u better luck next time.

yeah seems like i still have a lot to learn. thank you for your help though!

i went to walmart and got some stuff to lower nitrite, ammonia, chlorine and some other stuff. i put in just a lil over what it said for my tank (about 75 gallons worth). all i can hope for is that it will let my fish survive till i can get some new bacteria from the LFS tomorrow.

i also put in the stuff that i have that is supposed tospeed up tank cycling a little bit, turned up the air ging into the tank, and slowed the current in the tank

all your help is much appriciated!! i would still be trying to figure out what was wrong if it were not for DEEP BLUE SEA....thank you!!

:D No problem, I really hope your fish make it. Any more questions just pm me

ok, so the 3 remaining fish are still alive!!! my nitrite level has gone down to .25 and my nitrate level down to 90.

obviously this is much better! but is it still ok for the fish to be in there???

also my ph droped .2, is that normal?

Well if the fish have survived the worst then im sure theyll survive now though im not sure if its normal or not for the Ph to drop, but its probably because the bacteria is getting rid of the chemicals in the water that arnt healthy for fish. Im so happy your fish pulled through tho
