Please Help! Foggy Water

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think everyone is spot on with it likely being a bacteria bloom. I know you mentioned your PH was high, but in my experience most captive breed fish, f2 or later are very tolerant to PH conditions not so similar to the native waters they have never occupied. Now if your PH is like 9 or something super high I'd worry about lowering the ph, otherwise I thinking K.I.S.S. is the best approach for healthy fish. Water stability in my opinion is just as important as water parameters.

Once you start to chemically alter your water it becomes unstable in my opinion. Sounds like to me your were just going through the cycle in why it turned cloudy.
I disagree. My discus have been fine in water treated with the same product for months now.

I agree with the above posts about it being a bacterial bloom.

What sediment and are the oscars digging? I cleaned out all teh sand from my tank and added new stuff. It gets clear, then one of the fish digs and stirs it up, then it takes daaaays to get clear again.
