  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Also, damsels and clowns are generally really hardy, and if anything was able to take a beating like that and survive, it would have been then. Like everyone else said, I fear that the only way to restart is after a really good cleaning.
Best of luck to you, and I hope it all goes well the second time around.

did she use soap?

some sponges have a oil which helps prevent mold, and bacterial buildup as it sits and dries. I avoid using anythings thats not designed for aquariums because of this. I prefer to spend the difference and be safe over sorry.

Im sorry to hear about the loss, and no more wife in the tank. Let the rock dry for an hour or so and re cure in a bin has been mentioned before. Id replace the sand altogether. There are cheap ways to do this. One 5-25 lbs bag of live and the rest dry. The lbs depends on the size of the tank. This will keep the cost low. You could honestly do all dry argonite reef sand.

Dont use anything that was soaped! It coats onto rocks, substrate, and everything else it comes to contact with. I would get new decor and wash the filters and such very well with hot water many times!

i use scraps from when i cut filter pads out of bulk floss.. works just fine and doesn't (tecnically) cost anything
