Some of them don't have the pattern. I have caught a few brown anoles with little/no pattern

Maybe this site will help they have a pic of a brown anole down towards the bottom with very little pattern. http://www.bio.miami.edu/pze/anoles.html

Taken from above website : (talking about brown anoles) "The only consistent characteristics is that they are some shade of brown and their dewlap is orange with a yellow border."

Yeah I have seen plenty without patterns... or with out patterns when they are light brown and then develop patterns when they darken up and vice versa

easiest way to tell! ready?

first place in in a large tote. Next go catch 15 more random ones. Pref green but browns would do. Now drive north untill u reach the MD PA line. Now PM me. I will give you my address. At this point in time your thinking WTH, why am i doing all this?? We will get there. Now drive to my house. I will take the tote and go into my basement. You will follow me and will get to see Claudia in person. Now I will take the tote and place it in the enclosure. I will remove the lid and wait while the anoles exit the tote. Now your problem in solved!! why you ask? it didnt answer your question at all did it? Who cares! they are in my enclosure and you aint getting them back!!! :D
