yea ill watch it cause my eel is my buddy ive had him since he was a wee lil worm.

just a bump to see if anybody else could maybe give a positive id.

Looks bifa to me. Don't worry about it getting it's butt kicked, they can hold their own, even though putting it in with a fire eel you won't have to worry about that at all. They'll be fine together, just remember you will need a larger tank down the road. About how big is it now?

try Zonatum or guttulatum its not bifa but, definately a vieja. get it dont miss out on a great fish.

either guttulatum, bifa, or coatzo. Need expert. Ask Mojo.

the fish is about 8-9 inches. so every one thinks it will leave my eel alone im hoping so im almost made up my mind. its just so many people said that their bifa will not tolerate tank mates.

the only place i can put it right now is in a 55 gal with a 2 foot fire eel. the eel is the only fish in the tank. my big tank has a bunch of grow outs in it right now.

tbh I think you may have a problem, but I have no experience with either fish. What kind of filtration do you have on your 55g?

I believe Vieja species also grow much bigger than 12", so it will be cramped- IF this is gonna be it's home for life. Otherwise it may well depend on the Vieja's temperment. May need a divider handy.
