Hi everyone,

This is my first post here but I have been coming to this site for quite a while. I was wondering if I can get some help Identifying this cichlid. It is called a purple something or other. The guy from the LFS said that it was wild and either caught in Columbia or Brazil, but I can't remember because I looked at so many fish. Apparently it is very rare, at least here in Canada. It is very small right now, probably around 1.5-2 inches. Thanks for your help.

I agree on apisto. When i looked up gafilte fish all i got were the quotes from Rush Hour. :D

With the blue on the face, it looks like something in the caetei-complex. But apistos are not my strong point. Apistogramma sp. Pebas is usually sold as 'purple' ...

Thanks for the help everyone. I went back to the store and found out it is a apistogramma purple inka.....Gafilte fish? lol.

looks like a common cacatouide...probly a female..get some live bloodworms in there..and itll definately color up and show wat it really is..

Um, it doesn't even have the cacatuoides-complex body shape ... it's missing the enlarged lips and enlarged head shape.
