Hello by the way. New to this forum and first post. Well, let me get to the point. I ran into a lfs and found this marked as a Jack Dempsey. i'm referring to the fish with pearls.

Well, I got him ONLY because it didnt look like a Jack.

Anyone have any input on this little guy?

110% not pure jd. u were right there, as to what it is im not positive but instant thought is hybrid. dont know much about hybrids, but has a horizontal line similar to a flowerhorn
