Please help identify

great looking fish, it looks to be a fader to me, its almost certain its not pure, pure rd or midas are hard to come by and don't get mislabelled, period. Its up to you what you want to call it, could go with midevil, hybrid, mutt, fader or what ever you want really, as long as you don't claim its pure. No one can ever say for sure what it is except who bred it... if you cant find the breeder I would stick with fader myself, at a guess I personally can see both vieja and amph in the fish.

Most flowerhorn varieties resemble an Amphilophus shape. I think its very easy to look at the picture and jump to Midas Cichild. It's impossible to say for sure whether it is or is not a fader, but at the end of the day I would circle back to the original post where they say, "We were told it was a Flowerhorn Fader female.". Why automatically assume the store mislabeled the fish when the picture resembles a common look for the variety described?

In other words, if it looks like a fader and was sold as a fader, chances are its a fader

As for what sex the fish is, you really cant tell from the pictures
