I read through a bunch of similar threads and didn't seen any that matched the description of what I found. I found little red things on the top of the water in one of my tanks.

The larger ones could fit 2 or 3 on the head of a pin. They are red, float on the surface of the water, and occasionally jump. Some are on the inside of the glass tank top (underside of the lid). They are too small for me to see clearly and move too much for most of the photos.

I am sorry but this is the best picts I could get. The picts are of the surface of the water and the glass lid.

On a separate note I found some worms in some plants I got from someone. I think they are harmless but would rather be safe and find out. So, anyone know what these are or if they are harmful?

nematodes
harmless scavengers that just get annoying

just bump up your water changes and stop feeding for a while

The first one looks like Planaria .It looks like you have red lighting so that is probably why they look red.The second are nemotodes. Both are harmless but if you get them it pretty much means your water quality is not the best.Up your water changes and reduce your feedings as over feeding is usually the main reason.

Guppies would make short work of the worms, can't tell for sure about the others but it does seem to be planaria.
