I did some research based on the apperance of the fish and this is what a think Amphilophus xiloaensis, Amphilophus lyonsi or Amphilophus citrinellus also dont rule out a flowerhorn mix you never know

If you caught it in brackish water, chances are it's a Uropthalmus...Mayan Cichlid. It's the only larger CA cichlid that can survive in salty water.

thats what i thought as well when he said he caught it in brackish water but the ocel in its caudal area doesnt look like the typical mayan ocel

I have a feeling it's a Red Devil mix. It would make sense considering they have a established population there. I remember reading that citrinellus would be caught in brackish streams in Central America.
