Looks like what I would call a blue dragon. Basically a red dragon with more blue. Beautiful big male. Like any other flowerhorn they have lower immune systems and shorter lifespans. It’s anyone guess how long he’ll live but given proper care Will live a good long life.

Flowerhorn aren’t very easy to label. One might call yours a red dragon, blue dragon, kamfa, or a whole variety of different options to choose from. Due to the red eyes I say this is a zz breed more commonly known as the red dragon by most but due to the large amount of blue color all over its body I personally would choose to sell or identify this certain fish as a blue dragon. What are you feeding him and what’s the current water change schedule?

thanks for the reply, he's about 11 inch. i'm using eheim canister filter and a internal filter for more surface aeration
i do 30% water change every 5 days and dosing prime.
heater set at 28 °C
as for feeding its hard for me, as he having trouble locating smaller pellet. i have try dozen of pellets from hikari okkiko to nls. but now hes on hikari jumbo food stick, which is not for FH i guess. but that pellet is large enough for him to see and eat.

Getting your flowerhorn a good diet can be a bit tricky. If you feed them too much protein then can get organ problems but due to how sensitive they are certain foods may not be the best for that specific fish to eat. I suggest feeding a diet of hikari excel and hikari cichlid gold. That’s what I feed my flowerhorn along with hikari blood parrot pellets and he loves them all but if your flowerhorn has had a preferred diet for the last year then I suggest sticking to it with minimum changes. How often do you feed? Also what size tank is he in

Agree with the ID. I would call it a Kamfa. Rtc/tsn Rtc/tsn has given you some ? information. I was wondering, do you ever feed your flower horn frozen food?
If you’re asking me if I ever feed frozen to mine then the answer is not anymore. When he was younger I fed him frozen blood worms and the occasional frozen shrimp of fish but since he’s gotten bigger I’ve only been feeding pellets

If you are wanting to switch him over to a different food and he isn’t eating it at first you could soak the pellets in garlic guard or frozen blood worm juices

the tank is 75 gallon. cause i'm retire, so i am home most of the time. i feed him like every 3 hours during the day. 1 pellet of hikari jumbo carnisticks, its quite a big pellet. so 1 day about 7 to 10 stick.

yes i use garlic guard sometime. he has no problem eating other food. its just that most pellet are small. and he has problem locating it. and some would float to the corner of the tank and would not be eaten and i dont want to pollute the water.
