My new marbled pim is a bit sick I think. First off I cannot get him to eat ANYTHING. He got beatup by my sev and acara and he isnt doing so hot. I am currently treating the tank with melafix and doing a 10% or so water change everyday. I am mostly worried about his gills and whiskers. His whiskers got torn up by the other fish and I think his gills did too. I am not positive if the gills are from getting beaten up though. PLEASE HELP ME!!! I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO LOSE THIS FISH!!!!!!!

I finally got him to eat!!! He has eaten two cubes of bloodworms and I am going to try more later when I get home from work. He is looking alot better today. He is swimming alot more and everything. His gills don't look any better though:( . Ohwell I guess I will just have to wait. It can't be anything too serious since nobody responded.

He looks alot better now. He just ate 1.5 whole cocktail shrimps. His stomach is swollen like a ballon. I am still treating with melafix and doing water changes. He is swimming around alot more.

good... so its doing better

glad u got him to eat, so he's doing a lot better right? post new pics when u see more of a detailed increase of health

Glad you got him doing better. Also when you do water changes, use stress coat, it has aloe vera in it to help cuts and wounds heal. Good luck with him, it's a nice catfish.

you don't have to use malifix if you or anyone who can't get a hold of that stuff. (but it does speed up the healing process) i just change the water 2-3 times a week to sterilize the water. every time i use to have a beatin up fish i just let it heal on it's own(takes 2-3 months broken -spines, missing wisker, missing tail fins, and other stuff.)I don't like using malifix because it just make my water dark blue and also makes my water stinks. Because you did water changes every day, you kept the pH level up. which alot of catfish like high ph levels which why you catfish ate and heals even if without malifix.

Well I came home today and he is looking SOOOO much better. He is cruising the tank and eating like crazy. You can visibly see his whiskers and gills healing. They look absolutly 100% better. Wow am I glad that worked out so far. I was afriad of losing him. I dropped in about 20 pellets today and 3 algea tablets and he ate them all as soon as they hit the ground. I will update in a couple days when his fins look a little better. BTW melafix is clear and it smells almost like peppermint? I don't mind the smell of it.

well, i must of been using alot..... or a different one. when my baby electric catfish bit a chunk out of my brother's fantail goldfish's tail.lol

All and all it is great to hear your love of fish got them back to health!

Well I don't use melafix unless my fish are in dier need of it like in this case. I hardly ever use it if it is just fins. His whiskers are growing back very quickly BTW. Amazing what this product can do. Thanks guys
