PLEASE HELP!! my bumblebee cichlid has ich. for 2 days now!

Well, 2 days ago I bought a new male convict cichlid, he only lived for 2-3 hours . he had white spots on him. maybe thats why my fish caught ich??

For now raise your temp to 84 degrees and add one tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons of water. This is a proven ich treatment and won't hurt the fish even if they don't have ich.

You may also want to research how to quarantine before you buy any new fish

Bderick is correct. I was about to advise the same but got caught up with another issue.lol

ACF, next time, please prepare a 10g as a quarantine tank for new fish. It will not hurt to spend a few bucks on a 10g. Just keep it barebottom and operate with a heater and sponge filter. Quarantine every new fish you get for at least 3-4 weeks (although I still frown on this time frame and seem to prefer even longer).

I really spend time checking out any fish before I purchase it and even then have had problems. Sorry about your problems.
