PLEASE HELP MY TEMENSIS!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Excellent news guys my temensis seems to have recovered. The nightmare is over :) He is swimming around fine now and I just fed them some bloodworm and he is as active as ever. I can't believe how close I came to losing my temensis. Words cannot describe how happy and relieved I am right now. :):):):)
I think the key to his recovery was heavy airation. I had my fluval 405 and a fluval 3 internal both blasting 'rapids' across the surface. I have to give credit to the fish too, he didn't just give up and sit there to die. I watched him last night trying his hardest to swim correctly for quite some time.

I would like to thank those of you who gave me some input even if it was bad news. I have learnt a valuable lesson from this close encounter. I am going to wait till they are bit bigger before I move them again. Next time I will get both tanks to the same temp then do daily 20% water changes using water from the big tank for 2-3 days. Does this sound like a good plan?

I seriously felt like crying the other night. The tems are my first peacock bass and I've watched them grow for the past 5 months and loved every minute of it. They are really hard to get hold of here in the uk too. I honestly can't say how happy I am now.

may i ask you for a full tank shot??? i like your avatar.... what other pea's do you have....

Anybody know what to do for the swim bladder issue? Any cures?

you make a hole at 45 degrees behind the pectoral fin with a needle to release the air.. if thats what the problem is

most fish with that problem of air pockets.... dont really make it, even if proceed with the method you mentioned above.... (fresh or salt)
not to knock you, braddah boost.... good info none the less....

IMO, if you dont know how to do it or have no expierience doing it.... i suggest not doing it... but if you are a daring person give it a try... but what are the chance's of the fish not stressing itself out any more....
resulting in a quicker death..
gotta think before you act...:grinno:

yes i deff agree with you bradda.. i use the method when reeling fish that i want to release out of 75+ feet of water ;) never said to try it in a tank.. i have to say though the fish swim away 80 percent of the time

yeah... i got a buddy that own his own LFS... and some of his s/w fish come inn lacadaisial with air pockets in them.... he trys his best to revive them and from the odds of 1-10, following that same procedure 4 out of 10 survive... but im no fish doctor...lol

so i've been reading youve been fishing while i was gone... how that go.... any big stripers..... i cant wait to get back out and touch the water with some pluggs....

yeah im still getting schoolie bass at night.. basically all thats around staten now are native stripers.. they range from 2 to 10lbs with an occasional 16lb( a random fish my friend caught the other night). this spring my largest bass was a 28lbs cow, not a bad fish but im still looking for bigger ;) i have been messing around with some fluke fishing but havent got a table fish yet.. it seems the only thing that i keep catching are burnt shoulders from the sun. they look like beefsteak tomatoes lol anyways always the fish that i actually keep to eat i cant catch ( i release almost all my bass, usually keeping one or 2 a year. i havnt kept any this year) regulations say a summer flounder (fluke) have to be 20 1/2 inches or bigger. the biggest i have caught so far is a 20". its amazing how a flat fish can weigh 4 lbs or so. you plug for stripers out there? you couldnt ****en imagine what i have in my marine tank :lipsseale:drool: it makes me do alot of this  my friends think that im :screwy: lol
