Please help - need to kill a fish

depends on size, if small, please take a brick hammer or cement block and squash him. the best way. its the fastest way for them to go. just make sure u do it hard and fast, by the way, the knife method isnt really the best, its only good for big fish.

trust me ,a big heavy lump hammer as fast as you can,its as close to painless as your going to get

I'll second the swift smack in the head via a swinging bag.

I read about all of the cocktails with vodka, clove oil and such but I think the fish still dies a slow death.

Brute force head smash is instant death.

Well i just did it. Swinging bag to concrete. I feel horrible, but it had to be done. I was expecting a lot more 'mush'. But it wasn't that bad. In the future i now feel more confident using the swinging bag method.

When I put my banded hifin down I turned on the hot faucet, got some steaming water and dunked the fish in... was dead as soon as it touched the water, didnt move at all and didnt breathe.

if you just use clove oil the fish doesnt suffer but if you add the vodka then it will start to burn and the fish will suffer...

fair enough. However i think boiling a fish is jst as bad. Anyways this thread is done. i don't want to start a huge debate. There are way too many threads discussing this. If a mod is reading this can you close it please. SPANKS!
