hi guys, i have a 10" or so female and about a 12" inch male, and he was just trying to mate with her, and she wasn't having it, she bite one of his claspers, and stabbed him above the stomach with her barb, he then blew his load in the tank, but he is slowly bleeding from the barb wound, what should i do?????, there in a 220 gal with a 20 ish inch silver aro, and an 8" datnoid, and an 11" peacock bass, and a 18" fire eel

please help
thanks
sean

he was just swimming around slowly, but he just had like a big blood coloured poop kinda mess come outta him

it looks deep, looking at the females barb, it white for like at least an inch, and he is starting to breath heavier, it looks like it is right below his lungs, but above his stomach

I have my female stubbing my male motoro almost every other day. He his very aggresive towards her and she is protecting. Note: she seemed to be in worse condition than he is... also, they had 3 pups 3 months ago - so, that's in the family....

ummmm.......

well anyway.......

regarding the wound. there is nothing you can do except observe and keep the water clean, perhaps add 1 tablespoon of salt per 10 gallons if you feel the need to do something.

i know there not lungs its a fish, i guess his gills?, what looks like the little rib cage anyway, im more concerned about him living then the proper wording at the moment, but thanks for the help guys, i guess all i can do is monitor the water, maybe a little salt, and watch
