Please help re: small aquarium leak-free filtration advice???

i dont think you need anything more then one over rated filter(overrated is always good) so one aquaclear 110 or some filtration thats equivalent.

as i said remember to watch your ammonia and nitrites at the time you switch filtration as they may spike at first until your new filter gets enough good bacteria
 
No problem, I was just guessing on the safe side. One Fluval internal from th U series would be enough. Plus a nice sponge filter.

They take up a whole corner though - but I like the sleek look of it. I'm a filter guy :)

If you go with an AC110, make sure you rotate the black piece on the bottom (you'll know what I mean when you see it) so that the back of the filter is higher that the front. That way if the sponge gets dirty and water flows around it, the water will spill into the tank and not over the sides or back of the filter onto the floor. A simple step some people miss with wet results.
