Please help : /. Stock tank plug leak.

Why not just buy a replacement plug/bulkhead that is made for the tank?
 
I thought about that but then i thought, this ones brand new. Why would those be any different? So im trying this one from home depot. If it leaks i will be siliconing. Uugghh. Im filling it at the moment and i have water above the bulkhead with no leaks yet. Not trying to jynx myself but this is the farthest ive gotten yet.

I know it's a common problem with those but I never had problems with mine. I redid the teflon when I got it and no leak so far after over a year.
