my wife just bought me a stingray for my birthday and i have always kept and been obsessed with fish, but this is my first experience with a fw stingray. i have had it(her) for almost three days now and i cant seem to get it to eat. i have bloodworms, live red worms, brine shrimp, and it doesnt eat any of it. it is pooping though so im confused. the water temp and levels are perfect because ive read through thread after thread and done my research. should i be concerned and what else should i try?

Try some very small guppys, red wrigglers, live blackworms, GHOST SHRIMP...Yeah try ghost shrimp first. I think that might get them used to the tank, but do you have any idea what ray it is?

Sounds like its not a motoro ray if its being a finicky eater (could be a different smaller more finicky ray hystrix, orbignyi, reticulata, etc.).

i dont know what type it is. i called the pet store because i dont live near it at all and the employee was not very sure of anything. the reciept says south american ray and she paid 100 bucks for the little guy. bear with me and i'll post a picture in a few minutes. maybe u'll know what she is

Just curious can you see the rays hip bones?

tell me where to look for them and i'll tell u. im uploading some pictures i just took to my computer but i cant get it to sit still enough to get a good shot

From the pics it doesnt look to bad. Try adding some chopped earth worms in the tank. The ray is a retic, when I got mine they didnt eat at first but after a few days they started to and gained wait. Retics are very picky eaters, mine only ate earth worms at first so I suggest getting earth worms.

its a good ray... i think she still eat but not alot... wait for a couple day before she start eat anything :D:D:D
