Hi everyone, this is my first post here, but i have been reading for a long time, but never posted, well i have a 110 gallon with a 8" arawana, and a 9 " motoro Sting Ray, a 4" discus, and a small pleco, and i was just doing a water change, and when the water was down, i noticed all these little bugs crawling on the glass, when i flick them into the water i couldn't even see them, but i could see maybe a 50-100 on the glass, i have a feeling there from the night crawler I've been feeding the ray but i have no clue, anybody know anything about these, and do you think there harmful? i have been testing my water frequently and it is good, ph is around 8, nitrite 0, ammonia 0, nitrate around 10 ppm

any info is greatly appreciated
Thanks

I am not too sure, maybe if you could describe the bugs a little more.

I beleive I know what you are writing about...Looks like little white, maybe transparent, crustaceans crawling all over the glass like Spiderman, right?????Try cleaning your gravel...Aggitate the gravel duing your next water change....suck out as much gook as you can from the debis floating about....I beleive those white thingys are a result of access bio material on and under in the gravel.....

They were more of a darker color, and i don't have gravel i have sand, and i have been stirring it up quite a bit lately, i have been slowly removing it with my python vac, to get bigger grain sand, but yeah the do crawl along the glass, with multipal legs, i do have live plants in the tank right now, could it be from dropping nights crawlers in with some dirt still on them?, i just started rinsing them recently, but i have dropped in a bunch right outta the soil they come in, and do you guy think these could be harmfull to my fish?

They sound like they could be Copepods, although I think these are more of a white color. If this is what you have, they are small crustaceans, not from the nightcrawlers, and harmless to your fish.

Are they jumping on the water surface? Or are they swimming in the water?

Is he right? do t hey look like this?.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk Militis but I doubt the poor guy has an microscope
If your really worried about it do a complete water change on the tank and keep rinsing the nightcrawlers off and see if these "bugs" come back, most likely something from the dirt was transfered into your tank but I honestly cant say wether or not they are harmful to your fish or not best to be safe and clean the tank before something bad does happen (if it will)
