please help with ID

this fish was solid black 2 weeks ago. I dont think it is a red devil....different shape head. I have red devils...they are different. Any help would be appreciated

probably a midas cichlid

I have had midas as well...their heads are longer with a "slope" from front to back. maybe there are different ones...not really sure tho

Unless you ordered it online (and if you did, then I'd assume you'd know what it is), its almost guaranteed to be a Midas/RD cross. There's basically no such thing as pure either unless you specifically order a pure fish from a reputable breeder online. That's why you can't place it, its got characteristics of both fish. Looks to be showing the midas more though.

Midas are virtually the same as a red devil only with bigger lips. id go with the midas (hope uve got a big tank)
