Oh I have another problem to add :(. I got a few fish out of the lake to help witht he cycle. I see that one of the bluegill (which I think it actually a pumpkin seed or something) Has a damn anchor worm on him ..... How copper with plants. Like the amazon sword and other more common plants? It says it may damage plants and snails??????

No one here has used copper for treating illness with live plants in the tank :( ?? Anyone?

It's a really bad idea. Most plants are sensitive to copper, several are easily killed by copper.

So how am I suppose to cure my fish :(. Well the tank for that matter. Remove all the plants?? Ouch!!!

for the plants, root tabs and flourish excell would be good, i dont recomend co2 system because its too much hassle, ive had bad experience with co2 systems but when i used flourish excell, no more problems, and also certain algaes hate flourish excell so those will disapear.

sorry I messed up saying it's a high light tank. It's actually more a medium light tank being 2.62 wpg. But since it's so tall, as you've heard already, the lower part of your tank might not get the full intensity of the light. umm ya from what i've heard plants plus copper don't mix at all. I would recommend doing a dip with you plants and keeping them in a quarintine. That way you can treat your fish seperately although that's a lot of meds to treat the whole tank. hopefullly you got two quarintines. Mind you, you could probably do the plant dips in a 10 gallon bucket or something and keep them there for a short while (maybe a day or two) without too much damage. I hate disease/parasites such a pain.:irked:

Good luck

Alright I got some stuff called Life Bearer parasite treatment. It was recommended by the guy at my local store with his marine Biology degree lol this guy is petty hard core. Dimethyl, Hydroxy, and Trichloromethyl Phosphate. he said it would be fine for the plants, but I might have to treat the tank for a week or so.
Flourish excell... I did get some with some root tabs. So we will see how things go.
So the last thing maybe someone can help me with. Which would be by far the best bulb for intensity that I could switch out the atinic with? I do not want to change my fixture. As I said before somewhere I went way over budget on this tank so far. (I think I always do), but there is no way i want to change the fixtures out. (the 2 Current USA)
Thx so much for all the help guys. I am glad I decided not to go with the copper. Kind of wierd because the same guy who recommended the Life Bearer told me the copper would be ok :(, but after seeing some of your guys tank photos it is quite obvious there is a wealth of info on here.
I will try to keep everyone posted on this med and the reaction of the plants and of course how affective it is with the anchor worms.

Excel is a good product, but far from a fraction of what pressurized co2 is. Excel is also intolerable by many different plants, other than alga.
