yea... i know mine prob used to be around 300... god only knows... i did 2 50% water changes a week... i tell people just to throw out there test kits and just do water changes... keeps it real simple that way...
I totally agree with that. If you keepo your schedule, theres no way theres going to be problems with your water unless of some disease through feeders or something.

well today is not a good day for me guys, i lost my first ray he died today while i was at work, and the worst part is that i dunno what did it too him. is he marbled?, I've never been sure, or does anyone know what/were, or more so, why he looks so different from most motoro's?, i really liked him, and i am pissed he is now gone, nice rays arent easy to find around here, thanks for all the answers guys

well when something is wrong... do a water change... maybe double the dose of prime... did you disolve the salt??? also post a vid of this behavior alot more helpful than a picture...

yes i dissolved the salt completely, and i couldn't get a video or i would have.

Try to do more frequent water changes, ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites should all be zero at ALL times. Might also be due to lice/louse forgot what its called, its like this tiny parasite that most wild caught rays get. Might also be a cause of "random livestock" feedings. You might have fed them livestock which were sick. Try not to feed with feeders or anything live at all unless you breed them yourself and you know that they are all disease free. If it eats shrimp and worms, stick with it. Try pellets too. You might want to get the clown knife out just in case. Keep doing what you're doing + more water changes. Good luck.

thanks, i did 50% once to twice a week, and rarly ever fed him livestock, the other fish would normally get anything first, but he would get the odd thing here and there

Could there be an internal parasite causing him to go into convulsion-like fits? I'm not a pro on reaction to parasites but maybe someone who is can chime in. Prazi pro wouldn't hurt just in case. At least, if it was me, I'd dose him. Hope everything works out...he is quite a looker. Good luck.

thanks, i dunno, and its driving me crazy not knowing what did it, i didn't even get time to, he died this morning while i was at work.

people have bred rays at nitrate levels of 100+ yes low is good but they are not causing the problem...

prazi wouldnt hurt.... good idea to dose it... you have added new fish to the system...

what temp do you keep your tank at???

i kept the tank around 83 to 84

here's a few more pics now that he's gone, may he R.I.P

Something in the water? Chlorine? Bad Metals?

Maybe it was the Sand?

I dunno..

water company could have added ammonia to the chlorine = chloramines...

was a nice marbled....

Sorry dude, he was good looking. Water companies tend to add more crap during the winter months or periods of heavy rain. Like stated maybe it was something like that.
