i have a 50 gal. with a 9in largemouth bass. ive tried adding a 6in blue channel cat, then a 9in albino channel cat. the bass attacked both till i had to remove them. what can i do to add a catfish or what can i add? please help my 2y.o. daughter wants more fish. thanks
also your probably wanna go shopping for a bigger tank if you plan on keeping it as 14 inch is very easy for LMB and a standard 55 is 12" wide. just a thought.
im getting a 100gal in the next month or so after i move. the albino cat is bigger than the bass though. ive put a bluegill in there at the beginning and it was beat to death. i started with two other bass along with this one about 8 mnth ago. its a maniac! its beat any and everything ive put in with it.
just curious, are there LFSs that sell Bass, Bluegill, and other common native US species, or do collectors just catch them?
are there any native/local species that are illegal to catch and keep in an aquarium?
Wondering, because when I go fishing, I never catch anything big enough to take a picture of, but they would look good in an aquarium. small LMB, Bluegill, Shiners, small gar...
even caught a alligator snapping turtle once, that thing was huge, though... I thought he was going to bite my damn finger off. I was able to cut the eyelet off the hook before the thing fell off the dock. sure it worked its way out.
actually for the bass I have was taken from a privately owned and stocked lake here locally. the catfish were purchased at my LFS. does know of a good deal on 125+gal tank?
My army recruiter once also had a bass, and that sucker i heard also beat up on all the other fish he kept. he fished the bass out from a lake too. later got rid of it because just too aggressive.
