Please help

Ok all you experts... this dumbass needs help getting a Aquatics Pro 125 wet/dry filter going. I purchased a used set up. All the pieces are there, I just can't make it happen. I have the hoses connected, I have the drive pump in the box, filled over 1/2 with water, water in the tank... no siphon???? Any tips for a beginner?

u need to fill the tank so it starts to siphon thru the overflow to the sump allow it tofill the sump to the safe point then start pump

You didn`t mention how the water is supposed to go to the sump.
What kind of overflow are you using?
