Please HELP!!

Actually, the snails did have babies!! About 2 days before the Bichir got his bump, but could that back him up?! If so I didn't realize. The baby Apple Snails are so tiny and squishy looking. I thought if my fish and such ate them it'd be O.K, but Now that you mention it, I cant find any I the tank so it's very feasible. They are very hard to spot being transparent though. On top of that. There was an empty snail shell,(which I removed) so he must of got eaten. As i said, I didn't think snails would cause any problems to a Bichir, but my Adult snails are pretty big. I'll do some research on the matter. Anyone with info feel free to add you opinion/knowledge, thanks

As far as the bump goes, It doesn't appear to be any redness or cuts, scrapes, bites..etc., just kind of swollen. I noticed the bump about a week ago, when I noticed that he was starting to swim funny.

Aside from the possibility of eating the snails, what has he eaten prior to the bump? Sometimes my Sen eats too big of a piece of shrimp, and will act funny for a few days and stay near the bottom, when he usually hangs out between the heater and the glass.

Well, his staple diet is carnivore pellets and live brine shrimp. Every three days or so I'll feed some live tubifex Worms. I also have a 25G guppy tank, which I use as food whenever they have offspring.

Other than that only other thing he could of gotten a hold of is any excess food; algae wafers, sinking pellets, or dried tubifex worms, but he's never shown interest in any of these. Also All fish in this tank him been on the same diet since set up, so I don't know why he'd be backed up now, if you know what I mean.

Yea, I'm kinda stumped too. I couldn't think of anything else that you hadn't covered. Hm... hows he doing today?

Pretty much the same. Just laying on the bottom, barely moving. Only time he really moves is when he swims to the top for a gulp of air. He's still eats just fine, but I've been dropping the carnivore pellets and Live Tubifex worms right on top of him to help him out. He hasn't even tried to go for the live brine shrimp. He just looks at them, not wanting to move. :(

Aside from that nothing really new to report. I think the bump is getting slightly bigger, but its really hard to tell. Anyone think I should treat for a bacterial infection or something like that. At this point I'm ready to try anything. I just hope he lives....
