So this is my hybrid pBass had him for 3 months
before this one passed today Aug 30 2020
I had an Azul that went through the same phase
had ich , then started flashing , then one eye starting getting blind, then fins look looked bad , then slim coat or possibly fungal ? , not sure what was going on ..
I tried seachem, API products. did 30-50% water changes daily and even added salt and replaced what salt I've taken out and brought temp up 86-87F .. I've tested my water
parameters where 0-.25 ammonia 0 nitrite 5.0-10 nitrate
been treating this specific pbass for about a month before it flipped over . I have 8 more pbass but they are not showing any symptoms at the moment .. I feed them dry krill , or fresh frozen telapia that I get from Safeway .
if your an experience pbass personnel please give me some input , was planing to grow these out . pH from the tap is naturally 8.2 , not sure if me living in CO plays a major factor in altitude with this fish since some shop and people have these fish .

Get the water quality properly cycled or settled. That means increase ur water changes or reduce ur feedings (amount or frequency) Atleast for now. I’d move the fish to a qt tank and treat with maracyn2.

Welcome aboard
With the exception Nitrate Ammonia, or Nitrite should be 0ppm at all times if aquarium is properly cycled and maintained. Agree with kno4te kno4te .

get Seachem Ammonia alert to see if that ammonia you are measuring is toxic or simply non-toxic ammonium.

thank you to you both for replying back ..

so I did a water change last night , and added seachem purigen and brought my perimeters all down to 0
I had to order seachem Ammonia alert and 4 24ct maracyn2 cause my fish are in my 180 ..

K KAN 4te that's my next question , if I'm using maracyn2

and put the fishes along with treating them in my 40 gallon

does the med protect it when it goes back into my 180 or does the 180 need to be treated before fish go back in?

I assume this is bacterial and should be resolved after the meds. In this case I’d only treat the sick fish. More injury/infection and less likely to transmit to other fish. So no infection after meds but does not protect the fish. Can get reinfected if stressed or poor water quality continues. 180g doesn’t need to be treated. Healthy fish should be fine.

Zanzag Zanzag I had 8 but 1 died .. there all between 3-4 in 2 Occellaris, (2) 24k kelberi 5in and Azul (1) 3-4in in the 180 and have (2) 7-8 mono in my 150 tall for now .

kno4te kno4te one of the mono is dealing with ich so dealing with that right now with heat 86-87F and aquarium salt .
soon as I get the meds , I will put him in my 40gallon quarantine tank

Zanzag Zanzag I only have the peacock bass in there .. don't plan to put anything else but peacock bass .. maybe down the line a bottom feeder .

but I do have 4 Intermedia pbass on the way .. but told my friend to watch them in his 230tank . trying to fix the issue in my 150 before bringing those in the 180 with monos and transfer the other 5 already in the 180 to the 150 since they are small ..

I am currently making a 500 gallon plywood tank ..
