I've kept a couple. Loved them. Appeared to me intelligent, interactive, fearless, quirky. They are present in the trade. Small ones ~$5-$10. I bought a 1' one from Aquarium and Puppy Center in Waterbury, CT for $40 a while ago.

Glad you got your Identification. Most cats are not very picky eaters so you can try raw fillet, shrimp and even sinking pellets.

Very unfussy. Pellets of all manner, fleshy aquatic/sea foods all were accepted eagerly. Since yours is wild-caught, it may be picky at the beginning because of the adjustment period and because of the diet change but a short fast of less than a week is usually enough. He will learn his new foods. If you plan to keep him, I'd recommend to get him through anti-parasitic treatments, both external and internal.

You are most welcome and ask as many as you please.

I'd recommend a minimum footprint of 4'x2' but 6'x2' would be better. All I say are my opinions. Since you are early in the learning stages about your fish, it is a good practice to try to get more info from many sources, many keepers, articles, data/care sheets (PlanetCatfish, Scotcat, FishBase, Wikipedia, Seriously Fish, Live Aquaria, etc. etc.), i-net.

No hidden message. Ask away all you want.

That's a really pretty bullhead species... I'll have to ask around and see if my lfs can get some.. those would make a great clean-up crew for my gar pool. I wonder is the red possibly spawning colors? I know a lot of our NA species are getting jiggy w/ it around now.
