yep, i think there's some PLJ there. and i dont think anyone can accurately tell from just pics if this aro is a male or a female. its hard enough looking and guessing from an actual fish, even breeders just put 20 or 30 adult aros in a pond, letting them pair up

if i get a chance ill take a pic of the males tube. as for the female, her egg tube only showed from about two months to right after spawning.
 
not sure if its worth mentioning, but in the pair pic, the male is the front, and female is in the back. they were a little over three years old at the time.
 
im gonna say that its a male...the size of his jaw and his mouth line go down pretty far...just my opinion though...gotta ask the real pros.

the pic with the pair looks the same, guess i cant tell them apart if the female wan not into spawing

so that means the male has a wider mouth than the female coz hes the one breeding the offspring in its mouth?
