alright guys and gals i need help-- please look at my pics--this is my 180 malawi tank.. and please look at the fish in pics number 2, 10 and 12 (its the same fish).. i cant figure out what it is and its driving me to madness...

it has a black horizontal bar (thick), and its background is a gray color, but on top of that black bar the scales are red, and through the middle and below the bar it is yellow--its a beautiful fish.. his hind tail and top fin have red in them also--it was sold to me as a lake malawi cichlid.. but holy crap thats a broad term! thanks everyone

looks that it may be a victorian not malawi

The closest fish I can find that resembels your fish is a haplichromis labridens. Only they tend to not have the red on the top of the body only in the fins.

Yea, I was thinking victorian too. By the way, amazing fish and tank. Some of the best ive seen.

it is a victoria lake cichlid, it looks ok to me . do not worry too much

Yes yours could also be a juvi hippo point if so great find not readily avalible that I know of .

Its either a Hap. sp Ruby Green or Hap sp Flameback. More than likely-its the latter.
