Thank you... looking forward to their growth..they are very hardy and though the female only had a small batch they are healthy and we have not lost any.. cannot say that about our Green Terror babies... we only have 5 left of the batch she had 2 months ago.. thank fully these 5 seem to be doing good.. i was losing one or two a day and it gets depressing.. i will definitly watch him for aggression...

I agree, kenyii showing its adult color. Young kenyii show nice color. (the young males are blue and the females are yellow) Could be why they are found so commonly at fish stores. However, you will find that they are fairly aggresive. Be mindful when choosing tankmates.
If you are unaware of its juvenile color, for sexing, generally, the males may have egg spots on the anal fin.

Thank you very much for your tip.. i appreciate all info i get get...

yes it is most definatly kenyi, I have a pair and the female is holding. I know I am going to have to get a couple of more so right now i have her seperated and when she releases them I will put them all in together (this way they dont all get picked on, they can stick together).

PS Ill also get 2 more female johanii also to go with my pair

also if you have 1 male and 1 female get two more females.

1st pick is definatly a male kenyii (look out for them they can be bad apples) and definately electric yellows in the second... maybe a month to aq month and a half old

wow those are great pictures..and it is amazing that it is the same fish, thanks so much!
