There is one spine on the dorsal and I think i count 18 rays.
(Hoping its not a goldfish)

looks like a small carp, But IAm not for sure.
 
I don't know my west coast natives well, so it's possible that's one of your native cyprinids, but I'm pretty sure that's a wild-type goldy. Sorry!

it kind of does look more like a wild goldy then a carp

There are no barbels so I am fairly certain it is not a carp. And it doesn't resemble any of the natives in my field guide.

I was hoping that it wasn't a gold fish, you read about wild populations and you see it on the news and you always say, that couldnt happen to me, not in my town LOL, I guess i have to accept that they are here too...
 
its in the goldfish family, thats for sure
