Well hound21 jardini are known to be aggressive and are the most aggressive arowana in most peoples opinions, you can't do much to stop it if it wants to kill it will , you can limit this buy loosing the feeders this just promotes attacks on tankmates , get fish that dont occupy the same tankspace (bottom dwellers like your cat) , plenty of hides for them to get out of danger.
Jardini are usually most aggressive between 8-15" ive found but this time they've usually took over the tank and seen off any tankmates they dont want :D

You didn't get ripped off its a great looking jardini , it probably looked like a plat through white tank treatment (lots of people do this when selling jars) or like you say stress , but hes settled in nice now colours look great :)
Forgot to mention tank size plays a big part in aggression too , what size tank is he in at the min ?

Yea tank is small for sure...I'm running a 75G but I need to upgrade or look into selling him . Some ppl say he might stop growing but I wouldn't want him to if he will grow bigger...ppl have suggested a 300G tank...really big for my living arrangements so I'm in limbo right now with what to do with him.

He won't stop growing even stunted jardini grow to 20"+ and won't live as long , ive kept one in a 150 bit it was still cramped my current one is in a 180 which I think is the min to be honest anything smaller causes problems.
Obviously bigger is better but thats as big as I can go in the house im in :(

Yea I feel you there Evz.

If I decided to sell him, what would be a fair asking price?

Where are you located. It's much eaiser when people have there locations in their profile. Around me a 12" jar could go for around $450.00.

Tom correct im in the UK so price totally different but a 12" jar in UK anywhere between £120-150 at the min they've gone up loads in past few years

I'm in Markham, Ontario, so Toronto Canada basically.

I feel like those would be realistic prices as well, but ive haven't been in this position before so I'm not too sure

150 pounds is about 235 dollars. I saw a 12" jar for ~ 450 but that was retail at Shark Aquarium.
