Looks cb to me as well ..... If they r cb they prob don't have a specific type ..... They r just cb endlis..... Their is really no way to ever no if the mother and father r both Volta or one Volta one tinkisso or if the mother and father were both just more cb endlis
the eyes r the number one way cb have whats called froggy eyes itch to me looks like what yours has the eyes kinda bug out some compared to wc specimens..the heads also tend to look diff than wc ...and also in a lot of cases the spines on their back tend to have more of a ....D..... shape to them versus wc whos spines are usually more pointed I guess u would say ..... this is not In all cases tho just most.....it is very hard for a new person in the hobby to tell the diff I never could understand for the life of me how ppl could tell them apart whwn I was newer but years later I can tell them apart easily....u could prob stick 100 bichirs in front of me or dr. b or a few others on here and we could tell u the sp. type if its cb or wc and even male or female and we would pron be 95% accurate on them lol it just something that takes time to learn the more u keep the easier it will be to see all of the differneces
Thanks, bichers are my all time favorite fish, besides Datnoids and Black Ghost fish. Its been a wild ride after 40 yrs + now have to sell my tank and diy sump
Just my opinion here, but I believe the darker endli with large block markings to carry Wild Caught traits of a Volta River type, and other 2 lighter are Captives. Quality on them are stellar! Hope these go to a good home where u are able to follow up on them.
Growing these endlis for up to 9 years is an amazing achievement. Sad to see a hobbyist, break their tank down entirely. But after 40 plus years of fish keeping. It's well deserved! Good luck!
