Hi guys.... heres the latest pic of the mystery fry... Its grown quite a bit so I'm wonder if you're any clearer on its ID....

It's definitely a victorian species. Somewhere along the lines of a pundamilia nyererei. Let it mature more for a more positive ID.

Yeah I'd agree looking at this fella.... He does show the bars occasionally and is becoming more territorial in a tank full of baby ExCichlasoma istlanum.

Nyererei are pretty aggressive. I've never kept istlanum before so I wouldn't know their temperament.

Ah it is chasing a few guys around at the moment... How big can they get? Istlanum are "VERY" aggressive when mature... more so than Red Devils and Trimacs.

The one you have appears to be female. Max size I'd say is 3 1/2".
