I need a stand built, out of wood. A stand for a 12x2x2 , could anyone tell me how many 2x4s i would need / the material list and maybe a drawing diagram? this would be so much appreciated ... i need it so i can give it to my wood working friend so i can get this stand build , and build the acrylic tank to get started. Ill be posting pics of the stand being built , and the acrlyic tank.... who knows it could just be your stand design that gets built

only problem is i need to get a 3-4ft sump inside thats a foot wide.

i dont think that stand would provide the door room i need

how much did that stand cost you to make? ball park range? i just got another quote for 1,500....

if anyone does post a design could you post an estimated cost as well? what type of wood should be used as well? bracing parts ?

1500 dollars is rediculas I built mine with the canopy for under 300. If people pay 1500 dollars for a tank stand then I am in the wrong line of work. Granted mine is only for a 6X2 but I am sure you could build it for under 600.

If my dad wasn't away I could have gotten one to you. We are building a stand for my recently aquired 300 gallon, and he built me one out of redwood for like $400 (his money of course) for my 140 gallon and we have a redwood canopy that is like halfway finished that was from extra materials that has been halted on being worked on due to this damn economy, I'll post a pic to show you what it looks like.
