AS SOME OF YOU MIGHT know my boyfriend got me 2 tanks 4 my b day (rip off) but any waY A 40 AND A 55 GALLON... so we go to pick them up (2 hr drive 1 way)the piranha rides home in a 5 gallon bucket.. the pacu in an ice chest ... we get them home and my poor pacu is on his side :( i thought for sure id lost him .. but any way we get the tanks out and thier FILTHY looks like they havent been clened in like 6 mths .. poor fish :( get them out find out 1 tank is cracked and the other in pretty bad shape somy pacu rests still in that damn ice box with a 10 gallon filter and an air tank fit for a 100 gallon hes alive and swimming doing ALOt better now but the lady fed them minnows you get at a bait shop swearing up and down that " with teeth like that hes gotta eat meat" question is what do you feed yours and how? how do i get him to eat veggies?PLEASE HELP .i dont have room but im not going to let him die... so pleae help with anything about this poor guy:( he needs a new home i know ..but please help thank you
 
im well aware of this... believe me .....im in need to keep him alive to find him a suitable home.... i dont have the tank big enough for this poor creature ..:(
 
carrots a lettuce are good some of them like almonds but algea wafers are taken not sure about brocili but try some fish chunks or anouther meat they need meat just not alot stay away from steak and red meats keep it on fish just not live ones
 
they love carrots and peas , obviously strain the water out of the can first. my 2 pacus love it . stay away from "meats" with the pacus they are vegitarians but will eat goldfish and minnows as well as beef heart ....ect . i have even given a hot dog once ( for entertainment value) but stick with the veggies canned or fresh .
 
frozen silversides, grapes,slice thin bananas, carrots, squash sliced thin.. pellets try everything but keep the water clean ..if he does not eat it remove it and try again..what a sad situation...
 
Sad indeed... any updates on how the pacu is faring now?
