Okay so it sounds like he is going to die sooner or later. you must give it back to a fish store so someone else and try to meet its needs. Trust me these fish eat so much that it takes a lot of money, tons of skill, and an even bigger aquarium than you can imagine.

I know:( i was trying to hel phim i put him in my 75 (my biggest tank) all by him self i got him to eat chicilid pellets he seems to love them ..as far as the pet store goes ive already called and asked they said that they dont accept fish that big:( hes up right and swimmin all ofer the place right now... but hes got like a white blisterly lookin thing on his gill ..and his fins look like some one tried to pull them apart down the creases and it looks like he has another top fin... any ideals? i want to find him a better home dont get me wrong guys... i know i cannot meet "Arnolds" needs:( but and i want to keep him well happy and as healthy as i can till his guardian angel comes along:( ill try to get pics up of him..

Time for a 300 gallon Rubbermaid tub or a pallette tank (my personal favorite). Two dual outlet MA600 air pumps and 4 Hydro 5 sponge filters. A set up like that can house those fish for a VERY long time because of the footprint.

He looks like he is in rough condition but nothing that cannot heal and concidering you actually saved him because according to your discription earlier he was in big trouble and now he is eating so that is great.. poor fellow.. i hope u continue to have success and maybe get him the big pond {rubbermaid tub}that wolf described above..not too pricey..

He looks really in poor condition... but like Liz said, he can be made to be ok... provided you get that pond... I second the palette tank option... and don't hesitate to overkill on filtration... medication like melafix should also do wonders... along with something against fungus...

From the body shape..that guys malnurished so start slow with many small meals rather than large ones that might mess up his system. Raise the temp and add a medicinal amount of salt.

A pallette tank like the one I was talking about in the other post is 210 gallons and costs less that $200.00. They are available on Ebay. If your intrested I can post a link.

The filtration I recomended will do the job for less than $60.00 but you can always add a cannister or two if you like.

Might not be quite the show piece an 8' long 240 glass aquarium is but where else can you get a 4' x 4' x 2' 200 gallon tank with built in stand that will last forever for that kind of money?

Besides...We can see what kind of a person you are by rescuing this fish and we all KNOW it won't be the last so you might as well be ready for next time....
