Max size is 24" but around 18" or so in home aquaria..

depends on variants.
usually 20-24".
some nice growth there.

theres some that get near 30".
but im not sure if anyone has those in the US.

yes.some malas can get close to 30".

Sure they can.. but I've yet to see one even remotely close to that in home aquaria..
