Hi guys. I just got back from my LFS with about a 3" Buttikoferi I picked up. He's in my 180g central american tank and getting along perfectly for the first couple hours. It is just minding it's own business and not being intimidated. I've read some mixed things about this fish. What are your own personal experiences with them?

I recently dropped off a 3.5" Butti at my lfs last week. He was a pretty mellow Butti, but the other one I have is pure attitude. The 3 that I have dealt with in my past were all crazy killers!

I'm keeping mine with 5-6.5" Synspila, Argentea, Bifasciatus, Regani, and some large clown loaches. All the fish are quite relaxed now that I have returned my tank dominator (a PSYCHOTIC male Salvini). I guess time will tell with the Buttikoferi.
Yeah, I had one viciously slam a red devil into a huge rock. Bad thing was the rock fell on top of the red devil... R.I.P
The owner of my LFS tried to talk us into getting a Buttie but after much research I told my husband no we already have way too many psycho fish in our house. It sucks they are soo mean cause they are beautiful.
Killed my Flowerhorn in a 240 gallon tank. Other than that was a great specimen. My got to 14 inches before I gave him to my friend.
