those are a few pics of it. bad pics for how dirty it really is but let along pics. really it's not as dirty as the pics make it look. but still need some help. as for the gravel there is black gravel in there so it looks like it's dirty when it's not.

let me know what fish to add in what tank. keep in mind these are only guesses. so far i know the jd goes after the bichir. looks like jd and bp are ok together. i did happen to see the needle for some odd reason get close to the jd and the jd pushed it away. that happened a few time. not real fighting i think. as for the large pleco well he's large and not doing much(other than when we got him he cleaned the tank all nice) let me know what you think.

as a reminder the tank it's not as dirty as it looks. also if you think it looks bad please give sugestions on how to fix it

? do you leave the lights on all the time just wondering if so that might be one of the issues with the brown algae

get a plastic scrubbie and clean that glass

for the tank decor i would take it out boil it an use a toothbrush to clean it off then get some java moss and try to get it to stick to the roman column thing with fishing line and get some anubis or spear plants and put them around the head i would lay the head on a tilt so the fish can go in an out of the bottom i would maybe put some rocks around it as well

and for sure get rid of the pink rocks you can use play sand or silica sand but make sure to wash it well first

i would also keep the water level topped up all the time so your water chemistry is easier to keep in check and weekly water changes

water add to the top other filter going now. as for the rocks i agree they are bad but my wife likes them. but i will pull alot out. as for the lights. well i guess i'm at falt for doing that. never had a problem before so left it on. lights are funky to turn on and off. but will set a timer now. as for the fish.. need help with placing them. any help

so how clean does your tank look now?

Before you worry about the fish, you really got to get the tank maintance and cleaning done..

Keep posting pictures so we can help your progess, and when your tank is up and running good, im sure tons of people will offer plenty of advise for what to stock it with...

BTW, to answer your other question. That does not look to be a 55 Gal tank. Based on the stand that you have it sitting on, good chance it could be a 29G on a 30G Long stand. You might put up the measurements just to see.

As far as everything else, kick up the maintainence a bit and decorate how it pleases you. I'll be the one to say it, I kinda like the Buddah head, but go with sand to make it fit in better. LOL
