Thank you, I thought it was male at first but lately I keep thinking the dorsal is alittle dark so I’m not sure. Really more of a curiosity but I’d like to see others opinions.
The profile looks female to me, but it may not be old enough to show either gender.
Can't tell, what size is the individual in the pic?
A male will normally show a steep profile, like this, but.....
if there is a more dominant/alpha male cichlid of any kind in the tank, it may be hiding its maleness to keep from being bothered or even attacked.

There is the man I was hoping to hear from.It is approximately 3 inches and it is in with two full grown oscars. They pay it no attention, but That could be the case I’m not sure. I was looking at some other juveniles around the same size and saw one that is distinctly male, and that’s what made me question the sex of this little tyke
