It's not like I put him in a goldfish bowl. However, I could swear that I had almost a dozen Neons last night. Boy, they're really good at hiding now since I put the Ghost Knife in there. Maybe they're all just playing together - hide and seek??!!

hide and seek in the ghost knives belly :)

I just nabbed a great deal on craigslist. I got a 20gal fully equipped with EVERYTHING. Filter, heater, lighted hood, siphon, plants, rocks, gravel, food, water tests, and a bunch more stuff! All for $40! I couldn't pass it up. Now I'm trying to think of where in my house I can fit another aquarium. My closet is full of stuff, my back room is full of stuff I had to shove in there to make room for my other aquariums, and my front room is full of water being treated for my w/c tomorrow night.

I impulse buy ALL the time, then I'm like ah ****.

I realize I'm starting to do that more and more. As I said I have 5 extra tanks in the garage (20L to a 240) just calling to me to get them set up. I'm trying to finish a 180 right now. And I've already thought of a great spot to set up my 240, but I gotta be honest....I'm gonna feel bad with my 4 y/o son outside all winter. Anyone seen the forcast for Denver, CO this year?

I think being on MFK has helped me to learn not to do that...
Very early on my fish keeping.. i used to buy up fish and go with the flow sorta thing.. get fish that other people were getting..

I killed some awesome fish because of tankmate conflicts.... i look at my Uncle (whos not a member here) and seeing how crowded his tank is and some of the problems he has with his fish.. i feel fortunate that i dont buy what i can't house...

I used to do that a lot...A LOT, lol. Now a days, my tanks have either little community fish or fairly good size predators. So now a days, I see fish that I want and I have to consider the nature of the fish I buy and where it can go. Usually I can put them in either tank, so I can't get it. Recently, a lfs got some TSNxPerruno (I think) for $10, but they're too small for the large tank and will predate on the community fish. So unfortunately, that Cat is a no go.

Wanna get yourself in real trouble?Go to a local fish clubs annual auction.
Saw a 100+ gallon acrylic cube sell for $35.I had my tiny sebring converible and still had to go pick up my wife and two kids after, and we were 150 miles from home.Realizing I might crack and bid then be forced to choose whether my family or the tank gets a ride home that day,I turned to my friend and said "Dont let me bid on that tank, even if you have to slug me.":naughty::(

Same thing with fish, the assortment of future and odd monsters at last years njas auction at a fraction of retail was mind boggling.

My weakness is severum.Love them.Buy them.6 months in cant stand them.Sell or give them away.repeat.:screwy:

Dammit!! It happened again. Can I get someone in MFK to hold onto my wallet for me? If I give it to my wife, I'll have a house full of shoes, and if I keep it there won't be any fish left for any of you. I know I shouldn't have done this, but a guys shipping out to Afganastan on Monday (10/26/09) and he's been trying to sell his 180 bowfront for months with no luck. So today I ended up with his stock. I got (1) 16" Clown Knife, (2) 10" Tiger Oscars, (1) 6" JD and (1) 8" Sailfin Pleco. I have room (more or less) for everything, but just couldn't walk away from that. What are the next 11 steps after admitting I have a problem?

nope... also never done that... always think first....
